To North American
Veterinary Medical Association Chapter Contacts,
As a veterinarian, you may have recently heard about false and
misleading
information posted on and spread via the Internet, regarding the
safety of
Swiffer Wet Jet or Swiffer Wet for use around pets. The
rumors circulating in
the pet community and in internet chat rooms allege that Swiffer
may be harmful
to pets by having "antifreeze" as an ingredient.
These "stories" simply are
not true, and have unnecessarily alarmed pet owners.
Swiffer is safe to use
around pets.
Our Procter & Gamble Consumer Relations department has been
receiving numerous
calls from pet owners and from veterinary offices about the rumor
so we want to
be sure that you, as chapter contacts, have the facts.
The attached shares
details and a rebuttal of the rumor by the ASPCA. I
hope this provides you and
your chapter members with sufficient information to feel
confident regarding the
safety of Swiffer Wet and Wet Jet.
